History:

Starting in 1965, TC leased 16 four-bay offset side hoppers from Chicago Freight Car Co. These were rebuilt at the Nashville shops for woodchip service. Assigned Nos. 200 - 215, they were stenciled for chipwood loading in Clarksville & Monterey, TN. They were assigned to unloading at Mead Paper in Kinsport, TN, on the Clinchfield R.R..

When TC declared bankruptcy in 1968, L&N took over leases on 5 of them. They were renumbered to 30850 - 30854 and reassigned to loading in Tullahoma, TN. A photo of 30854 exists in Steve Johnson's L&N Color Guide of No. 30854, taken in Nashville in the fall of 1970.
